For this job the customer had recently had there router upgraded and unfortunately for them it was one of the new ones that require the telephone to be plugged straight into the router, as the original location was in a upstairs bedroom/office. It wasn’t convenient to run up the stairs every time the phone rang. My solution was to wire the router to the downstairs hall and install a network cable back up to the office and then fit an access point for the office equipment. altogether are neatly installed solution and working just as the customer required.

Tv Wall Mounting in Perthshire, 


This was  a repeat customer who had just moved house and was keen to avoid a subscription-based TV service eg, sky virgin or BT so I suggested getting a TV with Freesat built in,  So this tv is connected directly to the satellite dish for around 180 free tv channels with zero monthly subscription, form there they wanted to ensure there was no or close to no buffering whilst downloading on demand content so I suggested to hard wire the tv direct for the internet network therefore giving the best chance of buffer free viewing, I also hard wired a connection to the office pc and fitted a data switch in the cupboard to keep it all out of sight. 


So the customer now has loads of channels for free and no buffering wheel whilst loading programs online.

Logierait new aerial

Today for one of my many jobs we were up in Logierait supplying and installing a new chimney Aerial for a customer who was experiencing a poor signal with their original set up.

We fitted the new aerial on the chimney and wired it into the attic to connect with the original internal tv wiring. 

All the TVs are now working perfectly.

Signal Problems

Well it’s been wetter than an otters pocket today and a bit of a nightmare to navigate around town with so many impassable streets due to flooding, hopefully everybody is getting dried out now. 


We’ve been out and about as usual, a little bit of rain doesn’t put us off, we’ve been and replace two faulty satellite dishes in Glendoick and Old Scone, and repairs to an aerial in Perth and a satellite dish in Luncarty. 


Are you are having an issue with your tv signal? With all the rain we have been having lately, Aerials can be dislodged and deteriorate over time, the wiring can become porous which causes water to get down into the tv equipment all affecting the quality of the TV signal.

How do you get a signal?

How do you know you’ll get a signal and will it be good picture quality? 


I often get asked by customers if I’ll be able to pick up a reliable signal, sometimes if I’m familiar with the area I will know from experience whether it’s likely or not, if I’m not sure there is only one way to find out and that requires getting an aerial and climbing the building up to a high point on or in the building whether that’s in the loft or on the chimney, connect to my test equipment and see what signals available, with the right test equipment I can usually tell pretty quickly whether the signal is going to be of a sufficient strength & quality to be reliable. 


If you check out the photos you’ll see a few pictures of a recent job in Auchterarder where I supplied and fitted a new aerial in the loft connecting it to 2 different TVs which were wall mounted one which was flat on the wall other was fitted with a cantilever bracket for a better viewing angle from the kitchen table.

Broken Aerial wind damage


I was contacted by this customer in rural Perthshire who runs this property as a holiday let. This is a job that shouldn’t have had to happen, upon arrival I could quickly see the aerial, mount and pole were pretty poor quality and not fit for location I have seen more strength in a McDonald’s straw. I made my recommendations based on the property being in an exposed spot and there is now an inch and a quarter galvanise steel mast holding the new aerial up I always use quality materials as standard so I don’t anticipate any issues with this installation now. it’s unfortunate that this broke in the first place however the initial installation was carried out by another contractor and the customer now has an additional aerial to pay for and scratched bedroom windows to pay for, if you want the best solution first time please call us.

Poor TV Signal / Pixelation ?

Have you got a really poor TV signal? For this particular job I was contacted because the customer was receiving pixelation regularly, upon arrival I plug in my test equipment and assess what’s going on with the signal, from there I make any recommendations after a little bit of investigation I determined that the signal coming in from the aerial was not good enough this is sometimes because the aerial deteriorates over time so in this case I recommended the installation of a new aerial on the chimney which was wired into the loft and connected to the original wiring upon completion I had a happy customer with a fully restored perfectly operational digital TV signal.

For this job in Perth I had to be a little creative to facilitate wiring this TV, this TV uses Apple TV so no sky boxes or any other TV equipment however I also had to facilitate a power supply to the new electric fire and two individual power supplies for the Apple HomePods as standard with all the wires hidden so this one was a little tricky, I mounted the tv, fire place and carried out all the wiring without any decor damage, should you require anything similar please get in touch.
